Chalk Paint® Decorative Paint by Annie Sloan
Have you been following along on Facebook? Vintage West has been involved in a LOT of changes! We currently have 2 locations. One is on the corner in the Warehouse District in Downtown Cullman and the other is just behind that same location! The "corner store" has been slowly turning into a boutique. We have so many fun, vintage style clothing lines and vintage style jewelry. If you have a special occasion, you need to come by and let Teresa or Amy style you up for your event! If you are looking for Annie Sloan Chalk Paint®, you should plan on coming to the "store in the back". We are currently rearranging that store to hold all the paint, furniture and classes. We have lots in store for that location! Think craft night! Is there something you've always wanted to do, but didn't know where to learn? Teresa can do ANYTHING!! If it's not already on her resume, she will learn how!
Here are a few pictures of that location. If you are interested in coming in and the doors are locked, just stop in on the corner and someone will unlock it for you!

Off the Growth Chart
You know that growth chart that the doctor's look at when your children are small? It tells you where your child fits in with the national average of height and weight of other children in America. I think if they checked the growth of Vintage West in the past 6 months, we would be off the chart!! There are so many wonderful and exciting things going on and we are excited to share it with you!
First of all, we have the current location in Warehouse Row in downtown Cullman, Alabama. It's a small space where you will find all colors of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint®, soon to include English Yellow, the newest addition to the Chalk Paint® color collection. Can you say, YUMMY?!?!
While you are deciding on how many colors you are going to buy, you can browse our beautiful collection of vintage inspired clothing and jewelry. We also carry lots of gift ideas, bath products, handbags and candles! After you have tried on all the adorable clothes, you can scoot on around the corner to the home store. Here you will find bedding, linens, fabric and our classroom. Interested in taking a Chalk Paint® class? We offer them every Tuesday at 11am and Thursdays at 5pm. We also love doing group classes! Call us to set up a Girls Night Out or birthday party!
If you are in the Huntsville area, you can go by Vintage Gypsies to find our Chalk Paint® and take a class to learn how to use it. We also have a small, but diverse selection of clothing and gift items, as well.
Some very exciting news as of late is that we have acquired Deep South Classics Bridal. We are thrilled to be bringing new table top designs, as well as those traditional lines we all know and love. Even more exciting news is that we are going to be moving into the Green House in downtown Cullman in July! There are a few renovations that need to be completed and then we will do some of our own fluffing and start moving in! We can't wait to bring you a vintage space to inspire all of your wedding and lifestyle needs. We are very excited about our growth and hope you will join us in celebrating!

Painting Fabric With Annie Sloan Chalk Paint
Yes, it's true. You can paint fabric with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint!! When we were in New Orleans for the Stockist's Meeting, we heard from several people who had tried it and succeeded! We couldn't wait to get home and try it out ourselves.
We are always scouring flea markets, yard sales and estate sales. We found this chair and new with a little tlc, it would be amazing!
Check out the close up of this fabric! UGH. This is a picture as we were getting started. Remember when painting on fabric, you need to dilute your paint with water. The color will stay the same and seep into your fabric better...keeping it from getting too stiff.
Here is a close up of the fabric after it's been painted and waxed. We took the clear wax and wiped it all over the fabric to give it a smooth finish and a leather feel. It is very soft and not stiff at all!
We used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in French Linen for the frame and Old White on the fabric portion of the chair.
This chair is in our home store. Doesn't it look great with our decor? If you haven't been in, yet, come by ASAP!
