Painting Fabric With Annie Sloan Chalk Paint

Yes, it's true. You can paint fabric with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint!! When we were in New Orleans for the Stockist's Meeting, we heard from several people who had tried it and succeeded! We couldn't wait to get home and try it out ourselves.

We are always scouring flea markets, yard sales and estate sales. We found this chair and new with a little tlc, it would be amazing!

Check out the close up of this fabric! UGH.  This is a picture as we were getting started. Remember when painting on fabric, you need to dilute your paint with water. The color will stay the same and seep into your fabric better...keeping it from getting too stiff.

Here is a close up of the fabric after it's been painted and waxed. We took the clear wax and wiped it all over the fabric to give it a smooth finish and a leather feel. It is very soft and not stiff at all!

We used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in French Linen for the frame and Old White on the fabric portion of the chair.

This chair is in our home store. Doesn't it look great with our decor? If you haven't been in, yet, come by ASAP!
